Here's the weekly round-up of opportunities for Ontario youth. I just post these as I come across them, so be sure to research any opportunity thoroughly and read all the fine print before getting submitting something yourself or recommending an opportunity to students.

Show Choir Canada National Championships
• Canadian high school show choirs
• February 1st, 2011
There's still a few days left for high school choirs from across Canada to register to compete in the first Show Choir Canada National Championship, scheduled to take place in Toronto on April 8th & 9th, 2011.

Dare 2 Move ParticipACTION Teen Challenge
• Canadians aged 13-19
• March 21st, 2011
Beginning January 31st, Canadian teens are invited to submit a "creative message about the physical inactivity issue". Indiviudals or groups can enter a photo, video or written submission for the Dare 2 Move ParticipACTION Teen Challenge for a chance to win "an active gaming console (or equivalent)" and $500 that can be donated or used to attend a leadership conference.

RBC Tarragon Emerging Playwrights’ Competition
• Canadian playwrights with less than 5 years professional experience
• April 29th, 2011
While there is no actual age restriction, the RBC Tarragon Emerging Playwrights’ Competition is open to writers who are just starting out in their careers. Submit a full-length, original script with a running time of at least 80 minutes for a chance at $3000, a spot in Tarragon's annual Play Reading Week and a year of dramaturgical support from Tarragon.

Toronto Public Library - Young Voices 2011
• Youth 12-19 who live or attend school in Toronto
• April 2nd, 2011
The Toronto Public Library is now accepting submissions for Young Voices 2011, the library's magazine of writing, artwork and photography by teens.
